Overall Purpose of The Job The Payroll Executive is responsible for the timely and accurate payroll processing of seafarers’ salary. Key Responsibilities And Tasks Secures the information on updated wage scales and any relevant update on the crew wages and changes in the contract. Coordinates with the Master to ensure that the required Monthly Variables/Deduction Lists are received. Reviews the crew lists versus the deduction lists received from the Masters and coordinates any offsigners/joiners that are missing on the list that should be included in the vessel payroll. Prepares and/or checks the vessel payrolls/monthly portage bills based on the agreed crew contract or wage scale and the deduction lists received from vessel. Coordinates with the person arranging the MPO and Allotment as to the actual amount paid to the crew to ensure that correct amount will be deducted from their on-board wages. Reviews the payroll and forwards the same to the respective vessel’s Master and vessel accounts. Answers queries from the crew relating to their on-board wages. Ensures that Final Wages of offsigners are accurately computed and arranged accordingly. What can I expect in return? V. Essential Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accountancy or with relevant payroll and/or accounting experience Good computer operating skills including word processing and spreadsheet experience. Excellent numerical skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with people at all levels. Excellent communication (oral and written) skills. Methodical approach to work and a good eye for detail. Good organizational and planning skills. Proven ability to work to, and meet, tight deadlines.
