Position: Fixed Asset Accountant

Schedule: Monday - Friday (07:00 AM - 04:00 PM PHT)

Skills Required

  • More than three (3) years' experience in Fixed Asset accounting
  • Hands-on experience in SAP BW is required; Blackline is a plus
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Agile and can work well under pressure
What will you do?

Primarily responsible for the integrity and maintenance of the fixed asset register and the depreciation lines of the P&L. Administer other P&L lines including recognition of insurance claims, expendable equipment usage, non-operational costs, and other lines assigned by the Financial Accounting Manager. Provide accounting support through the month-end process, including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including processing additions, disposals and depreciation in accordance with the Fixed Asset Policy.
  • Prepare the fixed asset register and balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
  • Provide effective analysis and explanation of variances in depreciation expense compared to budget and forecast.
  • Maintain the capital projects work-in-progress account, including processing additions promptly and liaising with business stakeholders regarding aged items.
  • Creation and closure of project codes in SAP.
  • Coordinate monthly fixed asset accounts across all stores and process disposals in the fixed asset register.
  • Responsible for the non-operational expenditure account and associated accruals.
  • Regular liaison with key stakeholders and follow up of invoices.
  • Provide analysis, recommendations and explanation of variances to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Responsible for the expendable equipment account and associated accruals with regular stakeholder communication.
  • Prepare budget and forecast depreciation expense and non-operational expenditure.
  • Communicate with stakeholders regarding expected costs.
  • Support the Financial Accounting Manager with ad hoc requests and projects as required.
  • Prepare capital expenditure disclosures to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
  • Liaise with Wesfarmers and internal stakeholders to lodge insurance claims accurately and timely.
  • Act as back-up for Senior Financial Accountants when on leave.
  • Articulate and challenge system/processes in the Finance function to drive improvements.
