Job Opening: Inventory and Fixed Assets Officer

We are looking for a results-driven Inventory and Fixed Assets Officer to join our Finance Division. This role plays a key part in strengthening internal controls, ensuring compliance, and improving processes related to inventory and fixed assets management across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, recommend, and implement objectives, strategies, and action programs for the Inventory and Fixed Assets Unit.
  • Develop, refine, and enforce policies and procedures to improve efficiency and minimize variances.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives approved by management.
  • Evaluate equipment and machinery purchases by computing ROI and payback during COPIC reviews.
  • Monitor Property, Plant, and Equipment (PPE), ROI, and establish systems for assessing useful life and economic benefits.
  • Oversee the hospital's inventory management process, including the timely completion of monthly and annual physical counts.
  • Prepare and submit variance analysis reports to the Head of the Financial Accounting Division.
  • Collaborate with departments to address and resolve variance issues.
  • Coordinate with the Budget and Financial Reporting Sections regarding projections and variance analysis.
  • Identify gaps across departments and recommend appropriate internal control procedures.
  • Work with the MIS Unit to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Supervise the Inventory and Fixed Assets Clerk and support divisional activities.
  • Uphold hospital initiatives related to patient safety and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of records in line with data privacy laws and hospital policy.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in inventory and fixed assets management accounting is required. Experience in manufacturing is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of internal control systems, variance analysis, and ROI computation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
