Property Accountant

Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Property Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions of multiple properties, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting overall property performance through sound accounting practices. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly analytical, and has experience in real estate or property management accounting. Key Responsibilities Manage all accounting operations related to assigned properties, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for properties Maintain and reconcile property budgets, expense reports, and tenant ledgers Process rent rolls, tenant billings, lease abstracts, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations Ensure timely and accurate recording of property income and expenses Support audits and prepare necessary documentation Collaborate with property managers, leasing teams, and external stakeholders to resolve accounting issues Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Use property management and accounting software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, QuickBooks) Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, AppFolio, or MRI) Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication and problem-solving skills CPA designation is a plus, but not required Preferred Skills Experience with CAM reconciliation and lease abstraction Familiarity with GAAP and property-specific accounting practices Experience working with cross-functional teams Competitive salary – paid in USD – Receive your compensation in US dollars, providing stability and global value for your hard work. 100% fully remote setup – Work from anywhere in the world—permanently.
