Purpose
The Pre-sales Engineer will collaborate with the salessupport or account team by acting as technical experts in customerpresentations. In addition, they determine the technical requirements to meetclient goals and act as liaison between the organization's sales/businessdevelopment and engineering groups.
Work Overview
- Providepre-sales technical support for Building Management Systems (BMS), FireDetection and Alarm Systems (FDAS), including solution design, BOQpreparation, and technical documentation.
- Workwith vendors to select the appropriate systems (controllers, FDAS panels,switches, structured cabling, etc.).
- Reviewproject requirements and assist the sales team in preparing technicallycompliant proposals.
- Attendclient meetings, present technical solutions, and support duringclarifications or tender evaluations.
- Ensureproposed designs align with relevant standards and project specifications.
- Improvenegotiations and contract closing by providing support to the Sales Team.
- Createquotes, bill of quantities per design principles, and sales proposals onbehalf of the sales team.
- Liaisewith vendors for technical qualifications.
- Providescoping support to sales representatives, and substantiate the solutionsoffered to prospects from both a requirements and technical point of view.
- Followingup on and closing out all pending items in relation to the requirementthrough to ensuring thorough level of documentation for handover toimplementation team.
- Performsother duties within the scope of the role to support the organization'sgoals.
Qualifications
- Strongtechnical understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) and FireDetection and Alarm Systems (FDAS), including components, designprinciples, and system integration.
- Knowledgeof auxiliary systems such as structured cabling, network switches,firewalls, and access control.
- Experienceworking with vendors to correctly select systems (e.g., BMS controllers,FDAS panels, network equipment).
- Musthave strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Mustbe confident, socially adept, and comfortable in client-facingdiscussions.
- Proventrack record of exceeding sales or pre-sales targets.
- Committedto excellence with high attention to detail.
- Capableof completing technical sales certifications from vendors (Schneider,Honeywell, etc.).
- Ableto handle pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
- Excellenttime management and organizational skills.
Work Experience and Education Requirements
- Degreein Engineering or any equivalent course
- Minimumof 2 years of relevant experience in Pre-Sales, BMS, Security systems(Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control).
