The Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking – Top Tier Clients will lead and oversee the bank's most significant corporate and financial institution relationships, ensuring strong portfolio performance, growth, and compliance with credit standards. This role sets the strategic direction for the team, shapes client engagement strategies, and ensures best-in-class corporate finance and commercial banking services for high-value clients.

The position is responsible for developing business objectives, policies, and operational practices that drive growth and profitability within assigned industries, regions, or market segments. The leader will manage and mentor a high-performing team handling the bank's most critical accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Leadership: Take full accountability for the department's loan and deposit portfolio, ensuring quality, profitability, and adherence to risk policies.

  • Market Strategy: Monitor industry trends and market developments, adjusting strategies to maintain a competitive edge in corporate finance and institutional banking.

  • Credit Oversight: Review and evaluate loan approvals, delinquency reports, and portfolio health to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Client Assignment: Allocate and manage key client accounts across the team to optimize coverage and business opportunities.

  • Policy & Process Enhancement: Identify process gaps and recommend changes to improve efficiency and client service.

  • Advisory & Structuring: Provide guidance on structuring loan and deposit products, corporate finance services, and complex transactions.

  • Team Development: Mentor, coach, and support team members, fostering continuous professional growth and strong performance.

  • Cross-Institution Collaboration: Maintain strategic relationships with other financial institutions to keep informed of industry best practices and opportunities.

  • Product Implementation: Oversee the rollout and optimization of new and existing corporate banking products and services.

  • People Management: Handle staffing decisions, performance evaluations, promotions, salary recommendations, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in corporate and institutional banking, particularly in managing top-tier or conglomerate-level accounts.

  • Proven leadership in portfolio management, credit risk assessment, and client relationship strategies.

  • Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of complex loan structuring, corporate finance products, and capital markets.

  • Excellent people leadership skills with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.

  • Ability to navigate complex transactions and regulatory requirements.
