SMC-IFSI is engaged in the management, operation, and maintenance of farms, hatcheries, slaughterhouses, fishpond, storage and various facilities and equipment for breeding, hatching, raising, growing, production, slaughter and / or processing of poultry. Fowls, hogs, livestock and other kinds of animals and foodstuffs and other activities allied or incidental thereto such as but not limited to animal feeds, nutrition and healthcare.

Job description and minimum qualifications:

Position: Operations Manager – Poultry Industry and food manufacturing industry

Position Summary: The Operations Manager for the poultry industry oversees and manages all operational aspects of the organization, ensuring the efficient and sustainable production, distribution, and sales of poultry products. This role involves strategizing, implementing, and monitoring key processes to achieve organizational goals and maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to regional and plant managers across all areas.
  • Drive innovation to optimize processes and achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Oversee poultry production processes, including breeding, rearing, and processing.
  • Ensure compliance with biosecurity, health, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor production performance and address bottlenecks to ensure optimal output.
  • Implement and maintain stringent quality control systems across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including food safety and animal welfare.
  • Analyze financial performance and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other departments to align operational goals with business objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (advantage but not required), Business Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a senior operational role within the poultry or agribusiness industry.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of poultry production, biosecurity, and food safety standards.
  • Experience in poultry farming or dressing plant operations is a great advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly flexible and able to be deployed across organizations; very mobile and able to travel nationwide.
  • Frugal and innovative with excellent physical stamina.
  • Additional qualifications include plant operation productivity improvement, capacity improvement, and production line balancing improvement.
  • The candidate must be in the poultry slaughter/dressing plant operations industry.
