Role Overview:
As a Healthcare Virtual Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals and team members in enhancing the overall patient experience. You will work remotely to provide administrative and patient support services using virtual technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be assigned one or two specific responsibilities from the list below, based on your skills and experience.
General:
Maintain strict patient confidentiality.Strict adherence to US HIPAA and other relevant rules and regulations.Compliance with all company policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned and subject to change as requirements evolve. Billing & Coding Activities: Evaluate medical record documentation to ensure proper CPT and ICD-10 codes are billed appropriately.Obtain precertification, if required, for specific procedures.Collect, import, post, and manage insurance and patient payments.Monitor claim status and correct/appeal rejected/denied claims.Verify insurance coverage and answer questions regarding billing and insurance policies.Prepare and review patient statements.Review delinquent accounts and contact patients for collection purposes.Answer questions regarding account balances.Verify/update patient contact information and mailing address.Investigate insurance fraud and report if found. Scheduling & Contact Center: Answer inbound calls to schedule appointments for new or existing patients at all locations.Monitor the clinical schedule to ensure efficient scheduling.Collect and document patient medical history into the electronic medical record (EMR).Maintain knowledge of the practice's services, provider specialties, and schedules.Direct phone calls to the correct departments. Virtual Scribe/Receptionist: Interact with patients via two-way audio/video communication to check in patients remotely or assist them virtually in our lobby.Interact with patients, providers, and peers via two-way audio/video communication to remotely document medical examinations and procedures in our electronic healthcare system.Complete post-visit tasks such as managing prescriptions, and post-procedure or diagnosis after-care instructions. Provide Support Services: Act as the liaison between providers and patients to support the patient's ongoing care, such as:Providing pathology and laboratory results.Scheduling surgical procedures.Answering prescription-related questions.Completing medical records requests.Coordination of care with outside providers.Coordinating answers to medical-related questions.Answering provider questions and coordinating needs with patients.Processing prescription refill requests.Processing medication prior authorization requests.Answering cosmetic/cosmetic procedure questions.Monitor the status of pathology and laboratory results ensuring results are received and processed to completion in a timely manner.Monitor, manage, and complete outstanding tasks assigned from multiple systems, such as:Inbound and outbound phone calls and voicemails.Sort and process electronic faxes.Manage inbound and outbound electronic communications via contact management system.Process Electronic Medical Records (EMR) tasks.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare-specific training preferred but not required.Fresh graduates or entry-level candidates are highly encouraged to apply.Proficiency in using virtual meeting platforms, electronic health record systems, and healthcare-related software is a plus.Friendly, polite, and professional demeanor.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Empathy and a caring attitude towards patients.Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to US HIPAA laws and other relevant regulations.Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, private workspace.Benefits:Laptop provided5 days annual leave + paid holidaysSigning bonus: Php 2,800; Probation completion bonus: Php 2,800Full-time permanent WFH roleComprehensive training providedPrivate healthcare benefits includedEmployment under local entity, ensuring legal protectionsThe ideal candidate:
