THE OPPORTUNITY

Plan International is currently implementing a project called, Systems Approach for Ensuring Online Safety and Empowerment of Children and Young People (SAFE ONLINE). The overall objective is to contribute to the empowerment and protection of children and young people against online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC) and online violence.

In line with this project, Plan International invites competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.

The Finance Officer – Relieverwill temporarily provide financial and operational support in budget monitoring, cash disbursement, and financial reports and records to ensure smooth implementation of the project in the covered areas, including validating and consolidating reports from the project's local implementing partner. Also, the Finance Officer – Reliver shall check, review and ensure the financial compliance of all financial transactions and reports, based on the donor/Plan's accounting procedures.

Further, as the Finance Officer – Reliever:

  • You will check, review and ensure the financial compliance of all financial transactions of the project.
  • You will review project payment requests, cash advances, liquidations, and reimbursements of the project.
  • You will prepare and submit the monthly and quarterly reports, including consolidating and validating financial reports from the project partner/s.
  • You will furnish all required financial documents during audit season or as necessary.
  • Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial Management, or related courses.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in accounting or financial management.
  • Relevant training and experience in the use of various online or offline financial computer programs and applications.
  • Previous work experience in a similar role or in a non-government organization/s is an advantage.
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds.
  • Applicants must be based in the Philippines and a Filipino national.
