We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Procurement to lead our procurement function. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for our construction projects. The Head of Procurement will also be tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers while driving continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. This includes establishing sourcing strategies, vendor selection criteria, and contract negotiation strategies.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective sources of goods and services. Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to drive continuous improvement.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Ensure that contracts are structured to mitigate risks and optimize value for the company.
  • Cost Management: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize procurement spend while maintaining quality standards. Monitor market trends and economic factors to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Procurement Process Improvement:Continuously assess and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline the procurement workflow.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence. Mentor team members and provide opportunities for professional development.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies in all procurement activities. Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks to protect the company's interests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies that deliver tangible results.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with procurement software and systems, such as ERP systems and e-procurement platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a passion for developing and motivating teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
