Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

As the General Manager, your responsibilities will entail overseeing operations in the Philippines, where you'll lead a team of over 100 employees and provide regular updates and reports to the executive leadership team based in Australia.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overarching leadership and direction for the entire office, overseeing multiple departments and ensuring integrated operations that align with the organization's strategic vision and goals
  • Implement and manage financial efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives across the organization, focusing on enhancing profitability and supporting long-term growth.
  • Lead a diverse team of over 70 staff members across various departments, fostering a culture of responsibility, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to improve operational effectiveness, diversify revenue sources, and achieve financial objectives
  • Oversee the daily operations of the finance department, including financial reporting and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and governance practices.
  • Set and maintain operational policies, procedures, and standards to streamline processes, increase productivity, and ensure the smooth functioning of the entire office.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement actions to improve operational outcomes, meet financial expectations, and achieve organizational goals.
  • Take a hands-on approach to manage financial outcomes, including revenue generation, cost control, and profitability assessment within the finance team.
  • Lead the finance team in the month-end process, management reporting, analysis, and other occasional financial tasks as needed.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial records for the annual audit and oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of the finance team

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of senior executive experience, with a focus on financial management and operational oversight in a large hire business environment.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing multiple departments, enhancing financial efficiency, and achieving organizational goals
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic planning abilities, and expertise in systems improvement for business performance and profitability
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating a diverse team and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • With an understanding of the asset-based industry
  • High level of proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Advantageous but not required:

  • CPA or ICAA qualification
  • Netsuite and/or Insphire knowledge
  • Candidates with prior experience as an Accountant or in Finance transitioning into the role of General Manager are highly desired
