We provide business and wholesale internet services for enterprises and SMEs, for carrier companies and property developers. Alongside fast and reliable connectivity, our services include access to an internet exchange, to infrastructure solutions, and technical expertise. We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to head our Carrier Buying department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition of last mile connectivity, backhaul connectivity, internet services, colocation, and other needs from carriers. This role requires a deep understanding of telecommunications, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with other telco providers. The position will support the CEO and CTO for core network requirements, as well as the Enterprise, International, and Domestic Wholesale divisions, and Site Acquisition departments for connectivity needs. The primary goals of this department are to lower overall network connectivity costs and improve the user experience for our customers.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's overall objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and industry developments to inform procurement decisions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers of last mile connectivity, EVPL, backhaul connectivity, internet services, colocation, and other network and connectivity needs.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to ensure the best possible deals.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to ensure service quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.
  • Track and report on procurement expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of carrier procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the procurement team.
  • Develop and implement standardized procurement processes and procedures.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve procurement practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with internal departments, such as network operations, finance, and legal, to ensure alignment on procurement needs and objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for procurement-related matters, both internally and externally.
  • Support the CEO and CTO in meeting core network requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Sales, International and Domestic Wholesale divisions, and Site Acquisition departments to fulfill their connectivity requirements.

  • Improve the user experience for our customers by ensuring high-quality and reliable network services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Telecommunications, or a related field. A Master's degree would be awesome.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in telecommunications procurement or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications services and infrastructure, including last mile connectivity, EVPL, backhaul, internet services, and colocation.
  • Proven track record of successful vendor negotiations and contract management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
