Job Summary
The Pharmacy Associate Manager oversees the operation of the section, ensuring compliance to all laws and regulations governing the operation of a Pharmacy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish, implement, and review policies and procedures of the Pharmacy in accordance with the policies of the Hospital, Department of Health, Food and Drug Administration, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
Maintain records of all transactions of the pharmacy to ensure accurate control over and accountability for all drugs as required by Philippine laws, rules, and regulations
Ensure legal operation of the Pharmacy, including meeting all inspection and other requirements of the Philippine laws, rules, and regulations governing Pharmacy operations
Allocate Pharmacy manpower to ensure full functionality of the department during operational hours
Monitor safe storage, distribution, and prescription of controlled drugs and use of pharmaceuticals
Consult with physicians and nurse regarding pharmaceutical questions and advise physicians on formulary medications and cost-effective and innovative therapies
Respond to pharmaceutical and other related questions addressed by members of the healthcare team and patients
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
- PRC Licensed Pharmacist
- Knowledgeable of Pharmacy Law and other laws related to it, inventory control, compounding of prescriptions, pharmaceutical supplies in the operation of a pharmacy, and use and dispensing of narcotics and poisons
- At least five (2) years supervisory experience in a community or hospital Pharmacy
- Knowledge to operate the following: biological refrigerator; pharmaceutical compounding machines/equipment in a community and hospital pharmacy setting; and other equipment/machines thatthe position holder may be required to operate from time to time.
