Role: Bookkeeper
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and reconciling vendor statements.
- Process payroll accurately, including calculating employee hours, taxes, and deductions.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Maintain the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, on a regular basis.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial transactions and reporting.
- Collaborate with management to support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience working as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
