About the Role:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented
Bookkeeper
to support our growing construction company in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, solid knowledge of
Xero
, and an understanding of the unique financial requirements of the construction industry in Australia. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial records and smooth day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily financial transactions and data entry using Xero.
  • Process invoices, receipts, supplier payments, and subcontractor claims.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and ledgers.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll, and superannuation contributions.
  • Track project expenses and assist with job costing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in
    Xero
    and related accounting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting practices, GST, and BAS.
  • Experience in handling payroll and superannuation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
