Summary

We are looking for a highly capable Finance & Accounting Officer to take ownership of the finance operations for both Ryoss Australia and Ryoss Philippines. This role suits someone who is confident across Australian financial processes, familiar with the Philippine regulatory environment, and able to run daily bookkeeping while also driving process improvement. You will serve as the internal authority on finance matters, maintain clean and compliant financial records, and coordinate closely with our external Australian accounting firm.

Role Overview

You will handle bookkeeping, financial administration, compliance requirements, payroll coordination, reconciliations, and tax filings across two entities. You will act as the central point of truth for Ryoss' finances and ensure both jurisdictions remain compliant and optimised. You will provide forward-looking financial oversight, maintain visibility across cash flow and liabilities, and support leadership with clean and reliable reporting.

You will not prepare Australian tax returns, however you will be responsible for preparing the underlying financials, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and ready for our external accountants. You will also manage Philippine-side bookkeeping and BIR requirements, along with payroll and standard corporate filings.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations

  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping for Ryoss Australia and Ryoss Philippines in Xero.
  • Reconcile all bank accounts, credit cards, payment services, loans, and intercompany transactions.
  • Produce monthly financial reports, cash flow summaries, and management accounts.
  • Maintain documentation and audit trails to a high standard across both entities.

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Coordinate closely with the Australian accounting firm to support BAS, IAS, and end-of-year requirements.
  • Monitor ATO obligations and ensure payments, lodgements, and reporting are accurate and on time.
  • Manage BIR filings, statutory compliance, and government reportorial requirements for the Philippine entity.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations in both jurisdictions.

Payroll & Benefits

  • Oversee Philippine payroll processing, timekeeping inputs, government contributions, and employee benefits.
  • Work with leadership to ensure payroll accuracy and handle onboarding or offboarding financial requirements.
  • Support Australian payroll administration as required, including reconciliation and documentation.

Finance Strategy & Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for tax efficiency, expense optimisation, and stronger financial controls.
  • Establish and refine internal financial processes, ensuring accuracy and scalability.
  • Advise leadership on financial risks, trends, and opportunities.
  • Improve reporting cadence, visibility, and consistency across both entities.

Cross-Entity Coordination

  • Ensure both entities' financials are aligned, clean, and reconciled.
  • Manage intercompany charges, reimbursements, allocations, and shared expenses.
  • Prepare structured reports for leadership summarising performance across both AU and PH operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA qualification strongly preferred.
  • Solid experience in bookkeeping and financial management for both Philippine and Australian contexts.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero.
  • Good understanding of ATO processes, BAS, IAS, GST, chart of accounts, and Australian SME accounting practices.
  • Strong understanding of BIR compliance, statutory filings, and Philippine corporate financial rules.
  • Experience managing Philippine payroll and government contributions.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational discipline.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to prepare clear reports.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and owning the finance function end-to-end.
  • Ability to work with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
