About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented 
Billings Team Leader
 to oversee our billing and accounts receivable operations. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely billing, manage collections, drive process improvements, and support overall financial compliance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Billing Process Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely billing across multiple service areas including DVA Community Nursing, Veterans Home Care, Support at Home, and Private clients.
  • Oversee end-to-end billing processes in alignment with company policies and client agreements.
  • Manage efficient data entry and monitor billing systems for errors or delays.
  • Proactively address billing inquiries and discrepancies with both clients and internal team

Accounts Receivable and Collections

  • Manage accounts receivable to ensure timely collections and reduce overdue payments.
  • Work with clients and internal teams to resolve payment-related billing issues.
  • Generate and maintain AR reports, highlighting overdue accounts for review.
  • Develop and implement effective collections strategies to improve cash flow and minimize bad debt

Reporting and Analysis

  • Analyze client rates to identify optimization opportunities and recommend improvements.
  • Support accurate month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare billing, AR, and AP documentation to assist with financial audits.
  • Deliver timely, comprehensive reports to support management decision-making

Compliance and Process Improvement

  • Ensure all billing and claims comply with relevant regulations, internal policies, and client contracts.
  • Update and review billing processes in response to changes in government programs (e.g., DVA, VHC, Support at Home).
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Work with IT and Finance teams to improve system efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data.
  • Maintain accurate billing data and documentation, ensuring audit readiness.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in billing and accounts receivable, with 2–3 years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end billing processes and receivables management
  • Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Skilled in accurate invoice coding and compliance with budget requirements
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional and client interactions
  • Ability to identify and resolve revenue leakage, disputes, and compliance issues
  • Experience training, mentoring, and conducting QA for billing teams
  • Strong analytical mindset with a drive for process improvement
