Senior Accounting Specialist Job Responsibilities:

Priority Tasks:

Accounts Payable:

  • Responsible for making sure that vendors are paid in full and on time for supplies purchased or any other expenses incurred by the business.
  • Determines whether the expenses are valid and eligible, have been incurred in compliance with company policies and guidelines, and have been adequately documented in accordance with the documentation standards.
  • Ensures the correct General Ledger account, store and cost center has been applied.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the customer receives an invoice for the goods or services and that the customer pays the balance due on that invoice.
  • Shall ensure the correct General Ledger account, store and brand has been applied.

Senior Accounting Specialist Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance or related field; preferably CPA but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in Accounting
  • Experience in financial reporting, performing reconciliations, analysis and compliance with GAAP principles
  • Experience in preparing financial statements, budgets, and participating in audits
  • Proficient in Accounting software and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in using Microsoft 365 Business Central is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
