A Food & Beverage (F&B) General Manager oversees all aspects of a restaurant or bar, including operations, staff, finances, and customer experience, ensuring smooth functioning and profitability.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations, including food preparation, service, and bar operations.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, food handling standards, and hygiene protocols.
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control to maximize profitability.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Staff Management:

  • Hire, train, and supervise staff, including kitchen staff, servers, bartenders, and other F&B personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Handle employee discipline and termination.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the F&B budget, forecasting revenue and expenses.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and cash handling procedures.

Customer Experience:

  • Ensure high standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Create a positive and enjoyable dining experience for guests.

Marketing and Sales:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract customers.
  • Create and maintain menus that reflect current culinary trends and meet guest preferences.
  • Negotiate with clients for use of facilities for catering, parties, banquets, etc.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role is required.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage a diverse team.
  • Possesses very good customer service and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations for the restaurant industry
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
