Claims Assistant

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Assigned special accounts to handle.
Receives Claims Documents from Receiving and Encoding Sections for review.
Prepares reports and statistics for management's information.
Assists in updating status of assigned claims to broker(s), agent(s) and / or Insured.
Reports to department officers progress of assigned claims for processing.
Monitors and follows-up evaluations to meet turn-around time.
Assists in the proper maintenance of claims files.
Monitor and follow-up requests for lacking documents and premium payments for the proper evaluation of the claims being processed.
Reviews and Checks all invoices submitted for payment.
Recommends Payment Orders to department officers for payment.
Reviews and closes all settled claim files and moves the same to the Archives.
Answers phone inquiries relative to the claims being processed.
Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of any four-year business or Engineering course from any reputable college or university
- Must be organized and thinks analytically
- Computer literate and has a working knowledge of word processors and spreadsheet applications
- Has strong work ethics and a major concern for accomplishing a day's workload
- Experience with a major car dealership service department or insurance department is an advantage
- Working knowledge of motor vehicles is an advantage
- Previous experience (at least 2 years as claims assistant) in the motorcar claims department is an advantage
