Senior Auditor

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior External Auditor to join our growing offshore team in the Philippines. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who want to take on leadership responsibilities, expand their technical expertise, and work directly with U.S.-based clients. The role will execute all phases of audit engagement(s) for external clients across various industries, with a strong (but not required) emphasis on insurance companies and statutory accounting. You will play a key role in supervising offshore associates, leading engagements, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit work. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, highly organized individual capable of working independently and collaboratively on various audit engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan and Lead end-to-end external audit engagements

· Perform audit procedures under U.S. GAAS and relevant industry standards

· Prepare audit workpapers and documentation to support audit conclusions

· Review audit workpapers and documentation prepared by staff auditors

· Supervise and mentor junior team members

· Conduct internal control testing and risk assessments

· Lead process walkthroughs and controls testing

· Identify gaps, improve controls, and work with process owners

· Draft and review financial statements, disclosures, and audit findings

· Serve as primary point of contact for client engagements

· Ensure audits comply with GAAS, GAAP, and any applicable regulatory frameworks

· Prepare financial statements and disclosures under U.S. GAAP

· Communicate with clients to gather necessary information

· Stay updated on industry standards, including insurance and statutory framework

· Contribute to process improvements and team development in a remote-first environment

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

· 5–10 years of audit experience (Big 4 background a plus)

· CPA eligibility or equivalent (U.S. preferred; Philippines also valued)

· Solid knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and COSO requirements

· Familiarity with audit software (e.g., CaseWare, ProFx, PPC) is an advantage

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft office

· Strong project management and supervisory experience

· Excellent communication skills and client-service orientation

· Ability to analyze complex issues, solve problems, and drive process improvements

· Comfortable working independently and leading remote teams

· Experience with insurance companies or knowledge of statutory accounting (U.S. NAIC/SSAP) is an advantage, but not required

· Ability to align with U.S. hours (PST) during busy season (January–May), with flexibility the rest of the year
