Staff Auditor

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Staff External Auditor to join our growing offshore team in the Philippines. You'll be part of a collaborative engagement team, gain exposure to U.S. audit methodologies, and receive ongoing training and mentorship to help you succeed. The role will assist in executing all phases of audit engagement(s) for external clients across various industries, with a strong (but not required) emphasis on insurance companies and statutory accounting. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, highly organized individual capable of working independently and collaboratively on various audit engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform audit procedures under U.S. GAAS and relevant industry standards

· Assist with planning and execution of audit engagements

· Prepare workpapers and documentation to support audit conclusions

· Test internal controls and perform substantive audit testing

· Communicate with clients to gather necessary information

· Help prepare financial statements and disclosures under U.S. GAAP

· Stay updated on industry standards, including insurance and statutory framework

· Support controls walkthroughs and control testing

· Help identify gaps, improve controls, and work with process owners

· Assist with risk assessments and contribute to process improvements

· Prepare audit workpapers and partner with external auditors

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

· 2–5 years of audit experience (Big 4 background a plus)

· CPA eligibility (U.S. preferred; Philippines also valued)

· CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred (eligibility considered)

· Solid knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and COSO requirements

· Familiarity with audit software (e.g., CaseWare, ProFx, PPC) is an advantage

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft office

· Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to team success

· Eagerness to learn, with attention to detail and a collaborative mindset

· Previous experience in public accounting preferred, but not required

· Experience with insurance companies or knowledge of statutory accounting (U.S. NAIC/SSAP) is an advantage, but not required

· Ability to align with U.S. hours (PST) during busy season (January–May), with flexibility the rest of the year
