The Opportunity:We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing Content Manager & Executive Editor to serve as the central hub of our content marketing engine. This is a unique, dual-focus role. You will be responsible for developing our overall content strategy and managing the editorial calendar. At the same time, you will work directly with our executive team as a trusted partner, helping to capture their unique insights and transform them into powerful thought leadership content. You are part writer, part strategist, part editor, and part interviewer, ensuring that the Playbook brand and its leaders are seen as authoritative voices in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Strategy & Management:
- Develop and manage the company's editorial calendar across all marketing channels (blog, social media, email newsletters, website).
- Plan, edit, and proofread all marketing content—including blog posts, case studies, website copy, and ebooks—to ensure high quality, clarity, and consistency with our brand voice.
- Collaborate with the SEO, Social Media, and PPC specialists to ensure content is optimized for search, shareable, and aligned with campaign goals.
- Manage a pool of freelance writers or internal contributors, providing clear briefs and constructive feedback.
- Analyze content performance using tools like Google Analytics to report on key metrics and inform future strategy.
2. Executive Content & Thought Leadership:
- Work directly with the executive team (CEO, CTO, etc.) to capture their industry knowledge, opinions, and insights.
- Transform raw ideas, bullet points, and conversations from executives into polished, publishable content, such as blog posts, LinkedIn articles, and social media threads.
- Act as a "ghostwriter" and editor, developing a deep understanding of each executive's unique voice and perspective to ensure authenticity.
- Manage the process of posting and distributing this thought leadership content on behalf of the executives on relevant channels (e.g., their personal LinkedIn profiles, company blog).
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, communications, or journalism, with a strong emphasis on writing and editing.
- Crucial: A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional writing and editing skills. Examples of ghostwritten content or content created on behalf of executives are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to capture and write in another person's voice, maintaining their tone and authenticity.
- Experience developing a content strategy and managing an editorial calendar for a B2B company.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles, content distribution, and digital marketing channels.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence and professionalism to work directly with senior leadership.
- Highly organized, with excellent project management skills and the ability to work autonomously.

- Experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with the sports, fitness, or small business software industries.
- Experience conducting interviews to create content.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
