  • Conduct microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished food ingredients, and water samples to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform environmental monitoring through air plates, surface swabs, and equipment swabs to verify effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation programs.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and maintain culture media, glassware, and microbiology laboratory equipment.
  • Carry out microbial enumeration (APC, yeast & mold counts, coliforms, etc.) and pathogen testing (e.g., Salmonella, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus) as required.
  • Document and report microbiological test results accurately and promptly to support product release decisions.
  • Assist in validation and verification activities related to sanitation, allergen control, and food safety programs.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping and GMP compliance of the microbiology laboratory.
  • Support QA audits and regulatory inspections by maintaining complete and up-to-date microbiological records.
  • Comply with company safety protocols in handling microorganisms and laboratory chemicals.
  • Perform other QA-related duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of BS Food Technology, Microbiology, Biology, or related science course.
  • Preferably with 2 to 3 years of experience in microbiological testing in a food or food ingredients manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledgeable in basic microbiological techniques: aseptic sampling, plating, colony counting, microbial identification.
  • Familiar with food safety systems (GMP, HACCP, ISO/FSSC applicable to food ingredients.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and analytical skills.
  • Can work independently in a laboratory setting and coordinate with production and QA teams.
  • Willing to work in a food manufacturing plant environment.
