Qualifications:

  • Must be a DOLE-accredited Safety Officer (SO2 or higher) under RA 11058 and DO
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in a construction project.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine OSH Standards and DOLE compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills.
  • Physically fit to perform site inspections and fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Compliance and Monitoring

  • Ensure full compliance of all site operations, personnel, and contractors with DOLE and OSH standards.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
  • Enforce safety rules, policies, and procedures on-site.
  • Maintain updated permits, certifications, and compliance documents required by DOLE.

2. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit required safety reports, including DOLE notifications, accident/incident reports, and OSH compliance reports.
  • Maintain accurate safety records such as inspection checklists, risk assessments, and safety meeting minutes.
  • Prepare periodic (weekly, monthly) safety performance reports for management.

3. Safety Program Implementation

  • Implement and monitor the company's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Assist in developing and updating site-specific safety policies and emergency response procedures.

4. Training and Awareness

  • Conduct daily Toolbox Meetings and safety orientations for all workers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly safety-related infographics and materials to enhance safety awareness.
  • Facilitate safety training sessions and refresher courses as required.

5. Emergency Response

  • Serve as the point person for any emergency, including accidents, fire, or natural disasters.
  • Lead the site's Emergency Response Team (ERT) and coordinate with external agencies when necessary.
  • Ensure that first aid facilities, firefighting equipment, and evacuation routes are available and functional.

6. Continuous Improvement

  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions based on incident investigations and audits.
  • Promote a culture of safety and proactive risk management across all site personnel.
  • Stay updated with the latest DOLE regulations, OSH laws, and best practices in construction safety.
