This position is responsible for preparing all financial report data, with format prescribed by internal (management/owner/board of directors) and external users (government agencies, external auditors). This position is also responsible for recording of monthly adjustments related to reserves, insurance, securities registration fees related to plan premium record, and analysis of accounts for clearing and updating.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Financial report processing in SUN and PREMIA systems by:

  2. Extracting all General Ledger accounts thru SUN IFS and Premia and checking that account balances are correct and tie up with the Trial Balance.

  3. Providing account balances and detailed transactions to requesting department/users but restricted only on accounts
  4. Mapping of the account set up to the other operating system.

  5. Generating the Trial Balance

  6. Prepares the following reports for Management use:

  7. Final production report

  8. Monthly financial statements

Income statement

Balance sheet

Trust Fund Adequacy

  • General and Administrative expense
  • Branch P&L
  • Trust fund monthly withdrawal report to be submitted to the insurance commission

  • Heritage lots weekly report

  • Prepares accounting entries to record the increase (decrease) of valuation from Actuarial.

  • Coordinates with other Departments of any concerns regarding account analysis preparation

  • Coordinates with external auditors and preparation of various schedules

  • Answers questions raised by external auditors regarding financial records.

  • Reconciles records with external auditor's records

  • Reflects in the Annual Financial statements all adjustments.

  • Prepares reports for submission to SEC, BIR and IC with coordination with SGV and submission of reports to government and other agencies

  • Quarterly Financial Statement (Unaudited) to Insurance Commission

  • Audited Financial Statement / Annual Statements supporting documents to be submitted to IC
  • Quarterly Reports for PSA and BSP

  • Annual Reports for PSA and BSP

  • Attends to inquiries of both internal and external auditors on matters pertaining to other accounting issues.

  • Monitors the reconciliation of GL vs SL by account owners on a monthly basis

  • Ensures proper filing, safekeeping and maintenance of all books of accounts and other accounting records

  • Monitors Golden Haven (GH) and Heritage Park Lots schedules

  • Monitors compliance of HPIC with the limits set by the IC

  • Acts as secondary liason or contact person of Philplans with trustee banks

  • Processes EOD of Premia transactions for uploading to SUN

  • Operates windows software for all reports and memos needed.

  • Other tasks assigned by Department Head and Division Head

Job Specifications

Education: Accountancy Graduate

Experience: At least 2 years experience in Financial Reporting

Knowledge required: Knowledgeable of any Accounting software & MS office applications
