Safety Manager
Position Overview

The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs to ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company policies. This role ensures that all employees work in a safe environment, minimizes risks, and promotes a strong culture of safety across all levels of the organization.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and enforce occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with government safety regulations and company policies (DOLE, OSHC, and other local standards).
  • Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Monitor workplace conditions and conduct regular safety inspections/audits.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, permits, and certifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and supervisors to promote safe practices in operations and project sites.
  • Develop emergency response plans and lead drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all safety-related issues and coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Safety Officer and 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Must be a holder of Safety Officer 3 or Safety Officer 4 (SO3/SO4) accreditation.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, laws, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willing to relocate to project sites as required.

Work Environment
  • Office and project site-based.
  • Regular exposure to construction/industrial work environments.
  • Requires strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols.
