What you'll be doing

  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines
  • Conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
  • Implementing and enforcing safety policies, procedures and best practices across project sites
  • Providing safety training and toolbox talks to educate workers on safe work practices
  • Investigating and reporting on all incidents, accidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation related to safety management
  • Help management ensure employees follow safety and health rules
  • Take charge during emergencies and crises

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations, standards and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with workers at all levels
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in computer and Microsoft Office
  • Certification in occupational health and safety, such as NEBOSH or OSH, is preferred
