A Glimpse into Your New Role

As a General Accountant , you will handle, prepare, compute, manage, research, and analyze all accounting data to provide quantitative information on performance, financial position, solvency, liquidity, and cash flows of our business. Your day could see you:

  • Accurately processing and monitoring key accounts and finance functions in a timely manner.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations, including Prepayments, Fixed Assets, Accruals, and Rent Expense.
  • Managing the Lease Register.
  • Preparing GST & BAS (Australia).
  • Conducting accounting reviews for invoices and expense claims.
  • Executing Accounts Payable (A/P) and supplier reconciliations and analyses as required.
  • Assisting with month-end accounting journals and reconciliations.
  • Supporting monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Participating in project teams as needed, with tasks depending on the objectives and nature of the project aligned with your current skill set and capabilities.
  • Completing other general accounting duties as requested by the Financial Controller.
What You'll Bring
  • CPA preferred, or at least preparing for the board licensure.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in a similar role in a medium to large-sized business.
  • A sound knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • High degree of computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related business area.
  • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics/Workday Finance is desirable but not essential.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of working with minimum supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility, with a willingness to undertake a wide variety of tasks and juggle responsibilities.
  • Contributes to and works within a harmonious team environment.
