Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of trucking operations, including dispatch, maintenance, route planning, and delivery schedules.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet utilization, reduce operating costs, and increase profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Manage and lead a team of drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and office personnel.
  • Monitor KPIs related to fleet efficiency, on-time delivery, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, etc.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of staff and drivers.
  • Coordinate with the finance team on budget preparation, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Implement systems for fleet tracking, driver logs, and maintenance scheduling.
  • Manage and resolve operational issues, customer complaints, or incidents in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, fuel prices, and technological advancements in logistics and fleet management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, Transportation, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in the trucking, freight, or logistics industry, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety protocols, and fleet operations.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and fleet tracking software.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
