About the role

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial support role within the finance team. This full-time position is onsite and based in Makati City, Metro Manila, and will involve managing day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting tasks to ensure the smooth running of the accounting firm's finances. The accounting firm is based in NSW, Australia.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
  • Preparing financial statements, reports, and other documentation as required
  • Assisting with the processing of invoices, expense claims, and other financial transactions
  • Providing administrative support to the finance team, such as filing and data entry
  • Collaborating with colleagues to identify and implement process improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations

What we're looking for

  • Relevant accounting or bookkeeping qualifications, such as a diploma or degree in Accounting
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar accounting assistant or bookkeeping role, preferably within a professional services or accounting firm environment. Preferred experience in the Australian accounting field.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain meticulous financial records
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software, such as MYOB or Xero
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A proactive and organised approach to your work, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
