Cluster Director of Engineering

1. Facility Maintenance:

a. Oversee routine maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

b. Schedule and supervise regular inspections of HVAC, elevators, fire protection systems, and other critical infrastructure.

c. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks.

1. Event Support:

a. Collaborate with event planners to understand technical requirements for upcoming events.

b. Ensure that audio-visual equipment, lighting, and other technical setups are in working order.

c. Coordinate with the technical support team to address any issues during events.

1. Emergency Preparedness:

a. Develop and regularly update emergency response plans for the convention center.

b. Conduct drills and training sessions for the staff to ensure a quick and effective response in case of emergencies.

c. Maintain a comprehensive list of emergency contacts and resources.

1. Budget Management:

a. Prepare and manage the annual maintenance and capital improvement budgets.

b. Identify cost-saving measures without compromising safety or functionality.

c. Review and approve expenditures related to engineering and maintenance.

1. Energy Efficiency:

a. Implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce the convention center's environmental impact.

b. Monitor energy consumption and identify areas for improvement.

c. Explore and recommend the adoption of sustainable technologies.

1. Staff Management:

a. Recruit, train, and supervise engineering staff.

b. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback.

c. Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.

1. Regulatory Compliance:

a. Stay informed about building codes, safety regulations, and other relevant standards.

b. Ensure that the convention center complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.

c. Maintain records and documentation to demonstrate compliance.

1. Technology Integration:

a. Explore and implement technological solutions to improve efficiency and service quality.

b. Stay updated on emerging technologies in facility management and integrate relevant innovations.

1. Vendor Management:

a. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.

b. Negotiate contracts for goods and services.

c. Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns.

1. Capital Projects:

a. Plan and oversee major capital improvement projects.

b. Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

c. Communicate project progress to upper management and other relevant parties.

1. Record Keeping:

a. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

b. Generate reports summarizing key performance indicators and maintenance metrics.

1. Communication:

a. Liaise with other departments to address cross-functional issues.

b. Communicate effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders.

c. Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and address concerns.

2. Minimum Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field

3. Must be a licensed Engineer.
4. Extensive senior leadership and management experience and proven ability to lead in a simular industry.
5. Senior management and financial skills with proven ability to develop and meet strategic, operational and budgetary objectives.
6. Have extensive analytical skills in interpreting service needs, general guidelines, local conditions and the achievaility of the desired results.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
