A Mechanical Technician supports the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems and equipment ensuring machinery operates efficiently and safely. The role requires practical technical skills, troubleshooting ability, and knowledge of mechanical principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Use hand and power tools proficiently to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment.
  • Ensure mechanical systems comply with safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to resolve technical issues.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct tests on repaired equipment to verify functionality and performance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and mechanical tools.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities or tasks that are not stipulated on this document but assigned by your superior or required by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: at least Technical/Vocational graduate

Experience: At least six (6) months experience of the job requirement

Specific Skills: physical strength and stamina, ability to repetitive tasks, detail-oriented, understanding of industry and safety standards
