Lead Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for a highly analytical and dependable Lead Accountant to manage the full accounting and financial operations of a growing Brokerage and Logistics company as well as other allied businesses under the same management group.

This position works directly with the CEO/CFO, providing strategic financial oversight across multiple companies. The role is ideal for someone experienced in cost accounting, consolidation, and management reporting, capable of handling both day-to-day accounting functions and executive-level analysis.

You'll play a key role in analyzing company costs, preparing financial reports, and providing strategic insights that guide executive decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounting operations for multiple businesses under the group (brokerage, logistics, trading, warehousing, and allied services)
  • Prepare and present financial reports, cost analysis, and variance reviews directly to the CEO/CFO
  • Monitor and analyze costs related to logistics, brokerage, warehousing, and supply chain activities
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems for inventory, freight, and overhead tracking
  • Conduct audits of financial transactions and recommend cost-saving strategies
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis across companies
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, BIR requirements, and accounting standards
  • Collaborate with procurement and operations for supplier pricing and expense validation
  • Support month-end and year-end closings for all companies within the group
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and financial insights to support strategic decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (CPA license preferred but not required)
  • 3–5 years of solid experience in accounting, preferably in brokerage, logistics, or supply chain industries
  • Proven ability to handle multi-company or group accounting
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas) and accounting systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • High level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Able to work independently while coordinating closely with CEO/CFO

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and strategic financial planning skills
  • Knowledge of cost accounting methods (absorption, standard, and activity-based costing)
  • Proven ability to manage and consolidate financial data from multiple entities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting
  • High attention to detail and integrity in financial management
