SANITATION STAFF – JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: QC Supervisor

Employment Type: Direct / Full-Time

Location: Commissary / Production Facility

I. POSITION SUMMARY

The Sanitation Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and hygiene of the commissary and production areas. The role ensures that all sanitation procedures comply with company standards and regulatory requirements to support safe food handling, production efficiency, and a clean working environment.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Sanitation & Housekeeping

  • Conduct routine cleaning and sanitation of production areas, equipment, tools, utensils, floors, and work surfaces.
  • Perform deep cleaning activities as scheduled or instructed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of comfort rooms, handwashing stations, waste disposal areas, and employee facilities.
  • Ensure proper segregation, disposal, and handling of waste materials.
  • Operate cleaning tools, machinery, and sanitation equipment safely.

B. Compliance & Safety

  • Follow company sanitation protocols, cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and food safety standards.
  • Assist in preparing sanitation logs, cleaning checklists, and routine cleaning records.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or sanitation issues to the QC Supervisor immediately.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, including proper use of PPE.

C. Support to Production

  • Assist in preparing production areas prior to start of operations.
  • Perform sanitation tasks during and after production runs as needed.
  • Coordinate with production staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely cleaning.

D. Other Tasks

  • Participate in training sessions on sanitation, safety, and hygiene.
  • Perform other job-related tasks that may be assigned by the QC Supervisor.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education

  • At least High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferably with TESDA certification related to housekeeping, sanitation, or related fields.

B. Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in housekeeping or sanitation work, preferably in a commissary, food processing, or manufacturing environment.

C. Skills

  • Familiarity with housekeeping and sanitation procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Good time management and attention to detail.
  • Flexible, with good communication skills and initiative.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Housekeeping hard skills.

D. Characteristics / Traits

  • Good attendance and punctuality.
  • Hardworking, honest, and well-organized.
  • Good working behavior, attitude, and team player.

IV. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
  • Willing to work shifting schedules, weekends, or holidays when necessary.
  • Can adapt to fast-paced working environments.
