Data Analyst

Job Description:

The Data Analyst position is a detail-oriented and collaborative that will transform complex datasets into actionable insights that drive Client's mission and strategic decisions. The candidate will have a strong skills in data preparation, analysis, and visualization, with the ability to translate business needs into clear metrics and dashboards. This role requires proficiency in SQL, BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and Excel, combined with excellent communication and storytelling skills. The Data Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across Client to ensure accurate, reliable, and impactful reporting solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources to create accurate and complete datasets for analysis. Use SQL, Excel, and ETL tools to prepare both structured and unstructured data. Partner with IT and data engineering teams to maintain pipelines, monitor data quality, and resolve issues quickly.
• Analyze datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform decision-making. Build and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI or Tableau, presenting information in a way that is both visually compelling and easy to understand. Apply statistical methods, KPIs, and data storytelling to ensure stakeholders can interpret and act on results.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into metrics and reporting solutions, and ensure deliverables align with organizational needs. Collaborate across departments to validate assumptions and provide recommendations. Support users through training, documentation, and guidance to strengthen Client's analytical capacity.
• Ensure all analytical work complies with governance standards, including data privacy, security, and compliance requirements. Document data definitions, processes, and methodologies to maintain consistency and transparency. Recommend improvements, identify opportunities for automation, and contribute to enhancing Client's overall data maturity.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in data Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, and will bring at least three years of relevant professional experience. They must demonstrate proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Strong analytical skills, data storytelling abilities, and experience building dashboards and reports are essential. Candidates should also show the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and adhere to data governance standards.
• At least three years of experience working as a Data Analyst or in a related analytics role. Strong technical skills in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets. Hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports in BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Advanced Excel skills for data preparation, pivoting, and visualization. Strong communication and presentation abilities to translate technical analysis into actionable insights for business users.
• Five or more years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a nonprofit, global, or mission-driven environment. Experience with cloud-based data sources and data warehousing platforms such as Azure Data Lake, AWS Redshift, or Snowflake. Familiarity with Python, R, or other scripting languages for statistical analysis or automation. Certifications in BI tools, data analysis, or project methodologies. Experience contributing to data governance practices and supporting organizational data literacy.
