About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Systems and Workstation Administrator to set up and maintain a small but high-performance office infrastructure tailored for Revit LAN worksharing and remote drafting.

This is not a generic IT role — we need someone who understands Windows, NAS, networking, and GPU remote access at a practical level.

You'll configure and maintain our workstation PCs, NAS, and backup systems, ensuring smooth Revit collaboration between in-office staff and remote freelancers.


Responsibilities
  • Configure 2 high-performance Windows workstations for local and remote Revit worksharing (with plans to scale up to 10 workstations)
  • Advise on best cost-effective setups — we value a proactive mindset
  • Set up and maintain NAS (Synology/QNAP) for central Revit model storage
  • Manage LAN networking (static IPs, DNS, latency testing)
  • Configure remote GPU sessions (Parsec / Splashtop) for external users
  • Set up read-only cloud sync (SharePoint, OneDrive, or Nextcloud) for off-site backups
  • Manage Windows user accounts and NAS permissions
  • Install and maintain Speckle Revit Connector for browser-based model review
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, updates, and performance monitoring

Required Skills & Experience
  • Windows workstation optimization for CAD/BIM
  • NAS setup (Synology/QNAP) and shared folders
  • LAN configuration, static IPs, and latency troubleshooting

  • Backup strategy (local + cloud sync)
  • Speckle Revit Connector or similar installation and setup

Workload & Schedule
  • Initial setup: 6–10 hours over 2–3 days
  • Speckle + backup config: 1–2 hours (one-time)
  • Monthly maintenance: 1–2 hours/month (updates and monitoring)
  • On-demand support paid as needed
