Spare Parts Interpreter (Onsite)

Job Description:

  • Review and process incoming trade customer enquiries submitted via the online portal.
  • Accurately interpret part requirements from customer-provided photos, descriptions, and VIN details.
  • Prepare competitive quotes for panel and mechanical parts, ensuring accuracy in part numbers and pricing.
  • Upload and submit required information into the enquiry portal within given deadlines.
  • Liaise with Internal Parts Teams or Suppliers (via system communication, not direct phone calls) to confirm part availability, pricing, and alternatives.
  • Monitor enquiry status, record outcomes (successful/unsuccessful bids), and provide reporting on trends.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of parts catalogues, supplier systems, and pricing structures.
  • Support the Spare Parts Team with administrative tasks related to quoting and order processing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Engineering, or any related field.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience as a Spare Parts Interpreter, preferably within a dealership, automotive supplier, or trade environment.
  • Experience working with parts catalogues, supplier portals, or quoting systems.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle panels and mechanical components.
  • High attention to detail with strong accuracy in interpreting and entering data.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work in a highly competitive quoting environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written communication skills (English).

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Prior experience in a high-volume trade or flee spare parts environment.
  • Experience supporting Australian, UK, or global automotive markets.
  • Familiarity with dealer management systems (DMS), ERP platforms, or automotive quoting software.
