Overview of the role

We are looking for a passionate Assistant Banquet Manager who will be accountable for the efficient operations of conference and events by taking responsibility for effective staff scheduling, delegation of job tasks, monitoring, and supervision of service.

Key accountabilities

  • Ability to oversee the set-up of each event including checking the physical layout of the room, providing the team with proper set-up information, and ensuring correct postings
  • Ability to direct and lead a team of casual colleague to deliver an event to the agreed standards
  • Oversee the punctuality and appearance of all banquet service employees, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene
  • Ability to introduce and communicate directly to individual hosts, reviewing details and making him/herself accessible to the host for any need that may arise
  • Handle, or relay to managers all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily

General Requirements

  • With minimum Banquet experience of at least 5 years
  • Knowledge in reading function orders and banquet event orders
  • Knows different service and set up for function rooms and event spaces
  • Engaging, fast, efficient, and friendly
