Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly analytical Cost Accountant to join our growing team. This role will play a critical part in managing cost analysis, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting for our US operations, including ecommerce channels such as Amazon and Shopify. The ideal candidate has strong experience in US accounting, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor
• Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
• Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports
• Maintain cost accounting system
• Assisting in month end close of the general ledger
• Reconcile Brand inventories inclusive of Raw Materials, WIP, finished goods and reconciling accounts
• Provides management with accurate and complete project financial information including financial statements, variance reports, financial analyses, and statistical reports; supervises compliance with all accounting and financial requirements of the management.
• Oversees the overall day-to-day operations of the department and ensures that transactions are posted accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintains and prepare a variety of complex financial statements, report, and analyses
• Proposes adjustments to accurately report orders and sales details. Follow through to ensure proposed corrective actions are implemented.
• Analyzes gathered information & data using descriptive analytics, trend analysis of current numbers against expected numbers
• Responsible for Ecommerce Channel accounting and settlements, including Amazon and Shopify, among others
• Creates weekly/monthly entries and reconciliations to book channel activity including returns, COGS, commissions, promotions, and other fees.
• Analyzing manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports to compare average actual costs to actual production costs
• Analyzes ecommerce channel activity and performance monthly and summarize status and make recommendations to Accounting and Ecommerce teams
• Creates variance analysis reporting for Ecommerce channels and work with Ecommerce team to understand and explain activities
• Reconciles, investigates, and books Amazon inventory adjustments
• Responsible for Prepaids, Accrued Expenses, Intangibles, and Fixed Asset accounts including monthly entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supports year-end audits by gathering necessary documents, investigating questions, and making final journal entries
• Develops and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Monthly and weekly financial analysis and reports as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be a college graduate major in any accounting related courses
• At least 3 years and above USA accounting experience is required, CPA or Chartered Accountant credential is a plus
• Ability to multi-task and to work independently with minimal supervision, especially in a hybrid work model
• Strong attention to detail and management of tasks
• Strong technology skills using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (NetSuite, Just Food)
• Willingness to engage with all departments to obtain information necessary to complete responsibilities
• Ability to find efficiencies and assist with implementing new controls and processes
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills; team player with a positive, can-do approach
• Willing to work on night shift schedule and hybrid set-up
