Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Environmental Specialist at GreenDevelopment Sustainable Solutions, Inc. The Environmental Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to environment health and safety management, environmental compliance, communication, environmental policy, and environmental science. This role is located in Quezon City with flexibility for some remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) in line with local regulations and international standards, particularly the IFC Performance Standards.
  • Conduct environmental baseline studies, stakeholder consultations, and risk assessments to inform the ESIA process.
  • Collaborate with project teams, including technical experts and external consultants, to ensure accurate and thorough assessments.
  • Identify potential environmental and social risks, propose mitigation strategies, and provide recommendations for project development.
  • Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings to clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable national and international environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
  • Stay up to date with relevant environmental legislation and IFC Performance Standards updates.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience preparing ESIAs for large-scale projects, particularly in sectors like energy, infrastructure, or natural resources.
  • In-depth knowledge of the IFC Performance Standards and how they apply to various project phases.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and policies at local, national, and international levels.
  • Strong analytical, research, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and effectively communicate complex information.
  • Degree in Human Ecology (preferred), Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Open to fresh graduates.
