Sustainability and Impact Director

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a like-minded, like-hearted Sustainability and Impact Director who is passionate about advancing the Kingdom of God and serving off-grid communities nationwide by bringing renewable solutions for their development.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Sustainability and Impact Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company's sustainability initiatives and social impact strategies. He or she will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure sustainability is integrated into all aspects of the business and align with corporate goals.

The Director will also measure and communicate our quantitative and qualitative impact while driving additional impact across all sustainability scopes.

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

• Create and execute detailed sustainability strategies aligned with HSSI's mission and values.
• Design and oversee HSSI's frameworks to measure the impact of SSIG's programs.
• Analyze, and interpret data to assess the effectiveness and outcomes of SSIG initiatives.
• Executes Impact-Related programs, events, projects on Pillar Days, i.e., Impact Day (on HSSi's anniversary) and Impact Awards (around the MCPI annual meeting)
• Work with the Program Innovation team to integrate sustainability principles into new and existing initiatives.
• Ensure that programs are designed to maximize positive impact and are scalable and sustainable.

Stakeholder Engagement and Social Impact:

• Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate their perspectives into our strategies, evaluate ongoing projects, provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure HSSi's quantitative and qualitative Impact Reports for key stakeholders (e.g. investors, donors, MFI partners, NGO partners, and technical partners) are updated. This includes the maintenance of key impact databases and materials (e.g., sales impact database, StoryStellar database, CSR programs) for marketing use.
• Review detailed Impact reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compelling content for our website, social media, newsletters, and other channels are created.
• Manage media inquiries and coordinate interviews.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and media outlets to increase the company's visibility.

Innovation and Best Practices:

• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability.
• Provide guidance on best practices for program implementation and evaluation.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with HSSI's mission and goals.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of HSSI's brand voice and visual identity.
• Monitor and analyze communication metrics to continuously HSSI strategies and outreach efforts.

We're looking for candidate with the following competencies:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strategic thinking, project management, has a passion for sustainability, has and a deep understanding of digital and social media.
• Strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling and social impact and problem solver with a positive attitude and a commitment to making a difference.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing sustainability and impact measurement frameworks.
• A deep passion for social impact and a commitment to making a difference.
• Has experience in developing and presenting sustainable business concepts, training, and emerging technologies.
• Has extensive knowledge of local, regional, and national emerging sustainable business strategies, ROI analysis, and other key sustainability tools and techniques.
• Has the ability to analyze data, evaluate outcomes, and recommend actions.
• Has strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, organizational skills, time management skills, and project management experience.
• Has knowledge of financial planning, including budget development. Understands cost-benefit analysis in the selection of sustainable business strategies.
• Has the ability to construct and direct a network of sustainable business resources.

Qualifications

• Has a minimum of 10+ years in sustainability, communications, or a related field, with a track record of success.
