Company Accountant

Job Brief

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Company Accountant to join our small but dynamic team. Working closely with the Business Manager and Directors, you will be responsible for overseeing financial compliance, reporting, and daily accounting operations. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can work independently, and is comfortable managing all facets of the accounting function. The role is remote and based in the Philippines, aligned to Australian business hours.

Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate financial records including daily sales, credits, and production entries across Xero and Unleashed Inventory.

· Manage day-to-day accounting operations:

o Bank reconciliations, accounts receivable and payable, collections.

o Communicate with customers via phone and email to reconcile credits and overdue payments.

· Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and financial reports.

· Ensure compliance with ATO requirements including BAS, PAYG, and GST lodgements.

· Support compliance for external certifications and maintain audit-ready processes.

· Provide financial analysis and recommendations to assist strategic decision-making.

· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.

· Monitor and support trade finance facilities (preferred but not essential).

· Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and certification authorities.

· Maintain and continuously improve internal financial controls and procedures.

Requirements

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounting or finance role.

· CPA or CA qualification (preferred or currently pursuing).

· Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation.

· Proven experience using Xero for accounting operations (essential).

· Excellent English communication skills, including confidence with phone-based collections.

· Ability to work independently in a remote, sole-charge accountant role.

· Based in the Philippines, available full-time during Australian business hours.

Desirable Skills

· Industry experience in e-commerce, FMCG, or retail.

· Experience using Unleashed Inventory Software.

· Familiarity with payroll systems, superannuation compliance, and ATO reporting.

· Exposure to ERP systems, automation tools, or financial system integrations.

· Experience supporting external audits and certification processes.

· Communication: WhatsApp, Teams, Zoom, Email
