Job Summary
The General Sales Manager (GSM) is responsible for leading, directing, and managing the entire sales team to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and market share targets. The GSM develops strategic sales plans, builds strong client relationships, and ensures that the sales department operates efficiently and effectively in alignment with the company's objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company revenue and growth targets.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to consistently achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Oversee daily sales operations, including pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with marketing and other departments to align sales strategies with company campaigns and initiatives.
- Establish sales policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
- Analyze sales performance data and present regular reports to senior management.
- Recruit, train, and develop sales staff to enhance skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, ethical practices, and customer service excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager, General Sales Manager, or similar leadership role.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office applications.
