Position: Procurement Supervisor

The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities to ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant procurement operations. This role supervises procurement staff, manages budgets, and implements strategies to optimize purchasing efficiency and control costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier sourcing and canvassing to identify competitive and reliable vendors.
  • Perform price checking and validate market rates to ensure fair and reasonable purchasing decisions.
  • Prepare and review cost comparison sheets to support management approvals.
  • Analyze procurement-related financial data and monitor purchasing trends.
  • Track budgets and ensure all purchases remain within approved limits.
  • Implement cost-control initiatives and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Review and approve Purchase Orders (POs within assigned authority).
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, contracts, and procurement documentation.
  • Prepare procurement reports and monitor overall spending patterns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Supervise procurement staff, provide guidance on daily tasks, and monitor performance.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Strong analytical and cost analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures, supplier negotiations, and inventory coordination.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) and procurement or ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
