Procurement Supervisor | Officer

The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for managing the company's purchasing operations to ensure timely sourcing, cost efficiency, and compliance with established policies. This role oversees supplier relations, spending control, staff supervision, and ongoing improvement of procurement practices.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and engage suppliers through continuous market research and vendor canvassing.
  • Review supplier quotations and validate pricing against current market rates.
  • Develop cost and price comparison summaries to support purchasing decisions.
  • Analyze procurement spending data and track purchasing trends.
  • Control procurement budgets and ensure all purchases adhere to approved limits.
  • Recommend and implement cost-saving measures to optimize procurement expenses.
  • Evaluate and approve Purchase Orders within assigned authority levels.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on pricing terms, product availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Maintain updated and accurate supplier files, contracts, and procurement records.
  • Prepare procurement reports and monitor overall expenditure performance.
  • Ensure purchasing activities comply with internal guidelines and audit standards.
  • Lead and supervise procurement staff, providing guidance on daily tasks and priorities.
  • Drive process enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the procurement function.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Proven background in procurement or purchasing, with experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Strong capabilities in supplier negotiation, cost evaluation, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of procurement workflows, inventory coordination, and supplier assessment processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
