Job Title: Officer

Reports To: Operations Manager / Head of Brand

Job Summary

The Officer is responsible for safeguarding company assets, ensuring the security of merchandise, employees, and customers within the retail environment. This role focuses on preventing internal theft, shoplifting, and other security-related incidents by maintaining vigilance, implementing preventive measures, and promoting a culture of security awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor store operations to identify and prevent incidents of theft, shoplifting, or fraudulent activity.
  • Maintain heightened awareness of customer behavior to detect suspicious activities.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, safety hazards, or breaches in security protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the store premises to ensure security measures are in place.
  • Support management in investigations of internal theft or policy violations.
  • Document incidents and prepare accurate, timely reports.
  • Collaborate with store staff and management to raise awareness and implement security best practices.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to security-related incidents.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Security Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Prior experience in loss prevention, security, or retail operations is an advantage.
  • Strong observation and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to remain calm and act quickly in emergency or high-pressure situations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
  • Knowledge of security systems (CCTV, alarms) is a plus.
