The Network & Security Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH) network and telecommunication infrastructure. He/she implements the day-to-day operations support for all data and voice network components.

  • Provides second level support and assistance to the Service Support in the day-to-day network operations.
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; and designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment, dial plan and call routing; and establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Maintains network performance through network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting network problems and escalating problems to vendor.
  • Provides support for all data and voice communication facilities (i.e., wired or wireless), traditional PABX or IP based, Local, metropolitan and wide area networks.
  • Secures and manages LAN/WAN, wireless, network and telephony infrastructure.
  • Ensures network and telephony structured cabling management is enforced and maintained.
  • Assists the Unit Manager, Network & Telecoms Support in the delivery of support services.
  • Ensures adherence to established policy and procedure for responding to requests for networking purchases, new hire setup, or relocations.
  • Participates in technical planning and strategy formulation as part of IT functions.
  • Assists Unit Manager in documentation support for policies, operating instructions, computing architecture and standard operating environment.
  • Assists the Unit Manager in preparing the annual budget, establishing cost control measures and cascading departmental goals and objectives.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
  • Ensures confidentiality of records and processes data in adherence to data privacy law and data privacy policy of the Hospital.

Requirement:

Graduate of Information Technology, ECE, Computer Science or other related courses and must have background and experience on the following:

  • Voice and Data Communication, Communication Protocols, Structured Cabling System, Routers, Switches, Firewalls and LAN/WAN Management
  • Network Trouble-Shooting and Network Components Confguration
  • Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewall, Controllers, Avaya and PABX Administration
  • ITIL Framework Orientation
