Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Mainframe Administrator to manage and optimize our enterprise mainframe systems. This role involves hands-on administration of IBM z/OS and AS400 (IBM iSeries) platforms, ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. Leadership potential is a plus, as the role may include mentoring and team development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer IBM z/OS and AS400 systems to maintain high performance and uptime
  • Monitor system health, plan capacity, and fine-tune performance
  • Manage backups, disaster recovery protocols, and high-availability setups
  • Enforce system security policies, access controls, and audit compliance
  • Collaborate with application and network teams for integration and troubleshooting
  • Schedule and oversee batch job execution
  • Apply patches, firmware updates, and software upgrades
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes
  • Support skill development and knowledge sharing within the mainframe team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mainframe system administration
  • Strong expertise in:
  • IBM z/OS operating systems and subsystems
  • AS400 / IBM iSeries operations and management
  • IBM mainframe hardware and software
  • CICS and VSAM technologies
