Accounting Assistant Manager

The Accounting Assistant Manager supports the Accounting Manager in overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with standards, and effective workflow across the accounting team. The role supervises staff, reviews reports, and helps implement accounting policies and process improvements.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Administrative
- Assist in drafting, implementing, and monitoring accounting policies and process flows.
- Ensure timely submission and accuracy of financial reports.
- Review and validate reports submitted by accounting staff through G-Drive.
2. Accounting Setup & Process Implementation
- Support financial accounting objectives and proper application of accounting methods.
- Assist in setting up accounting books and maintaining records using company systems.
- Help maintain the Chart of Accounts and support budget monitoring.
- Organize filing areas and ensure proper documentation and folio systems.
- Interpret and communicate policies and procedures to staff, vendors, and internal teams.
3. Transaction Validation, Reporting & Monitoring
- Consolidate, check, and validate daily, weekly, and monthly accounting reports (cashiering, AR, AP, bank reconciliations).
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including audit preparation.
- Supervise general ledger maintenance and ensure reporting targets are met.
- Monitor budgets for corporations/projects and prepare variance or business review summaries.
- Analyze accounting processes and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Identify and manage financial and operational risks.
4. Government Compliance
- Prepare, review, and submit government reports (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) on schedule.
- Maintain proper filing and monitoring of all compliance documents.
5. Team Support & Development
- Provide guidance and support to accounting staff on proper procedures and best practices.
- Communicate updates on accounting rules, regulations, and government requirements.
- Assist in monitoring staff performance and workflow to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related field.
- 5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of PH accounting standards, general ledger, AP/AR, and month-end closing.
- Experienced in reviewing financial reports, reconciliations, and validating transactions.
- Knowledge of government compliance (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
- Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, or equivalent) and MS Excel.
- Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise multiple teams and assist management in decision-making.
